We'll go. Seeing City Lights on the big screen, in a crowd of people, is the best viewing experience I have ever had in a theater, and ever since I have never missed a chance to see it again. I urge, in the strongest possible terms, anyone within the sound of my voice to go. I'll go with you. Any of the showings, all of the showings, fine with me. Just go.

Did anybody go? I couldn't convince any of my friends and I did not like the idea of going stag, though I do regret my decision a bit. Fact is, all my friends are tired TIRED of me dragging out my Chaplin DVDs. What can one do?

Indeed, Tom and I went - and the earlier Saturday screening was full of first-time viewers (you can tell by the giggles and the gasps - and the silent breath-catching at the end.) It was a delight. My first time seeing it on the big screen. Very enjoyable. T, you can always come with us to see Chaplin. We're always willing.

Carl Davis sometimes tours with a copy of City Lights and a full orchestra, though, for whatever reason, never to Los Angeles. Still, I imagine seeing CL with the music and sound effects being played live is quite the awesome experience.
