They think they've got him. A german guy driving a van with Canadian plates, angry because his mother had been picked up by immigration for deportation.

Assuming they got the right guy, it's always impressive what a single motivated person can do.

Kinda of makes you think how impotent al-Qaeda is.

Hopefully it was him and it's over, and there were no others involved. I keep hearing the number of fires change, their not sure if he's responsible for all of them yet. They are only charging him with one at this point, but I'm sure that will change. He's been denied bail.

New Years Day Night the 'copters were buzzing all over Beaumark's place, and I knew it was the dreaded arsonist. I was too pooped to go out and see if my car was on fire ... but the M.O. was garages and carports, and mine was street parked. My friends who live a few blocks away had the cars torched in the car port next to theirs.

I'm hoping they caught the right guy - but with 55 arson fires making the L.A. authorities look pretty clueless, I wouldn't put it past them to make a rush to judgment. I guess if the fires stop though ...
