Gerard Butler

In Eliza's honor I feel that I must admit...
I wasnt nuts about Butler in Phantom of the Opera.

However........................................... ...

Last night I watched Timeline.... A very weak movie when you consider the novel.. but entertaining none the less. That movie... made Butler seem very appealing. Not that the scottish accent couldnt have done that alone.
And really... what else was there to look at in this move? The only other cute men in the movie were killed early on!

Thank you Eliza. I've owned this movie for a year, and your obbsession made me finally watch it!

I loved watching Gerard Butler in 'Phantom'. It's just that the movie wasn't as good as the stage version, so it was hard to watch him. I kept thinking, 'Gee, he's not that bad without the mask.'

Oh, don't apologize. Lots of people didn't like him. Me? I wanted to lick every inch of his puckered flesh and droopy eye in the Phantom. Though even I must admit that he really should have looked far more deformed.

Ah, Timeline. Even I won't watch that again for Butler.

And, yet, I'll watch Dracula 2000 a million times. Just to hear him say, "Dignity."

Le sigh.

No, no.... I didnt like him as the Phantom... I couldnt see your appeal.
What I was trying to say... was that after I saw Timeline... I understood his appeal.

But soley on his performance in Phantom? No way jose.

But.. when i saw PotO live, the Phantom was african-american, and sang like a dream.
Had Gerard sang better, I might have been all over it.

But.... with the longer hair, and the accent, in Timeline..... I'm with ya.
And meh.. Timeline wasnt that bad... better book... but not that bad.

No-no, I know what you meant.

I actually liked his performance. And his voice, even though it was rough...though Gaston Lereau'x Phantom did not have a rought voice. His voice was like an angel. He could hynotize people with his speaking voice alone.

A devilish angel, then.

Well, to each her own. Sure, his was a pretty boy Phantom, and even the stage production made him look more horrific, but I was happy for the ogle.

He's nummy in Dracula 2000 and in Reign of Fire and in...hmm...NAKED in Mrs Brown...hmm. And he's coming out in what looks to be a very, very sweet Scottish movie called Dear Frankie.

Then he's all bearded and manly wearing mail in Beowulf & Grendel.

To add:

First Tomb Raider SUCKED. But I actually enjoyed the sequel, and not just because Butler was in that as well, doing chin-ups no less!

Ah, Mr Butler. I am shot through the heart, and you're to blame. Baby you give love a bad name.

And that name is: UNTAPPED CARNAL FRUSTRATION!

Tap my keg of carnal frustration, Gerry. Tap it!

Okay.. he was good as the Phantom, I dont dispute that point, but he didnt rev my engines in that role. However he did in Timeline... that said, we move on.

He was Bale's sweet best friend. The one who dies running up to save the children?

Which, fangirl side note, Butler would probably actually do that. He saved a boy from drowning once. My hero!

Crap, maybe I *will* sit through Timeline again.

Yeah he was way hot in that lame-ass Tomb Raider 2 also. I saw that movie and went, "HE'S gonna be the Phantom???"? Oooh baby.
