The 3D technology has finally come to be good enough that I'm almost ok with it. If they release like Beowulf did where both options are available then it's completely cool.

I loved Beowulf. It was amazing in 3-D. That was my very first one. It didn't appear cheesy to me but very well done. though I am easily amused.

I didn't see Beowulf in the process, but the last Harry Potter was beyond lame.
Nightmare B4 Xmas was excellent ... but it still felt like a fad, and I never have to see that movie again that way (it's perennial with me, btw). So I think I'll likely be opting for the 2-D versions. Depends on the individual movie, but I think 3-D is a sop to money making and not (as yet) part of the actual artistic process. |

Meet the Robinson's in 3-D was good too.
Really I'm fine with it so long as they make the movie as a 2-D thing where 3-D is just adding depth to the image. 3-D gimmicks (and the ones in Beowulf did annoy me a bit) are tiresome. My complaint with Beowulf in 3-D on IMAX was that the polarization of the glasses required holding my head completely upright. If I tilted my head I could alter the brightness of the picture. Until then I hadn't realized how much I lean my head while watching movies. When I saw it the second time in Disney 3-D that wasn't a problem. |

I enjoyed Meet The Robinsons in 3-D as well. The move makes complete sense to me - it's part of the longstanding cinema tradition going back to the days when widescreen was introduced to battle the invention of television. It's something you can only (at least for now) see in theaters. I look forward to 'em.

We saw Superman at IMAX with the 3D. It was a little stupid to have to put the glasses on and off, and it didn't add a huge amount to the movie, but I was generally impressed with the execution.
