Obama's Service program

Monday the 19th is the actual "Day of Service", and there are events all weekend, but the concept is to jump start service pursuits all over the country, all the time. I would participate but I'm booked for this weekend through Tuesday.

I do intend to get involved, soon. Not sure what I'll do.

Anyone else into the concept? We could work on stuff together...

I also plan to be involved as I mentioned just after the election. I've got some time to volunteer in the local community and I am leaning towards giving some of my time here. But I also want to give some time for animals and I may also volunteer here.

Happily, both are close to my home.

CP, I have to say it again, your verve and zeal during election season was very inspiring in a good way.

I'm coaching a team of 11-12 year old basketball players against a Christian school junior high that day at 3:00. It's a rec league team (Jr. NBA) that plays on Saturday nights. In the interest of getting better and getting our money's worth, we've sought non-league sanctioned exhibitions to play in. We already beat this Christian team in December and look forward to getting that ass on Monday.

Does that count as service?
