New Sherman Brothers Documentary

Sadly, publicity for this film seems to be nearly nill, but I'm definitely going to check it out. It seems to have an incredibly limited engagement. According to Cartoon Brew it will only play for one week in three cities. Hopefully that will be expanded down the line. You can catch it in:

L.A. at the The Regent in Westwood
San Francisco at the AMC Meteron
New York at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema on Houston Street

I was invited to several screenings (it premiered at the SF International Film Festival) but unfortunately none of them worked out. Heard good things, but if you want to see it, see it fast.

This movie is a must-see for everyone on this board.

Thanks to a generous offer from someone who couldn't use his tickets, I was able to see it at the Newport Beach Film Festival.

I wept through the entire second half of the movie.

That sounds fascinating, hopefully it will branch out to other theaters.

My understanding is that there is really no chance of that and they're getting it to DVD quickly. I think it is only in theaters to qualify for Oscar consideration.

But that was second hand so may be wrong.

It's going to be released on DVD in the not-too-distant future. And it should have a fair amount of extras, according to the Sherman Cousins, who made the movie.
