That's nothing. I was at the Stockton Asparagus Festival this year and we happened by the stage just as they were announcing the results of the deep-fried asparagus eating competition (fortunately, we weren't there while they were actually eating) and the winner ate something 8.5 pounds of asparagus in 10 minutes.

You can read the winners thought on the competition (and see a video) here (I just found this while trying to confirm how much he'd eaten, I don't follow this guys career).

The day we were there it was about 100 degrees.

Considering the heat and the thousands of people consuming large quantities of asparagus I was amazed at how the port-o-potties didn't really stink.
