I'd say the pin cushions fall under design, since they are in some way functional. (I include graphic design, since it's purpose is also functional: messaging, advertising, etc.) Cool find!

Once upon a time I wanted to be a book designer. And then I chose to attend a college that had no emphasis in design...and, for my first two and a half years there, had little more technology than computers that could process words.
