I wish I had a photo of the dog that a college friend had. It was a cross between a black lab and a Bassett hound and it looked exactly like you hope it would:
  • Black Lab body and head
  • Short Bassett legs and floppy Bassett ears

I've seen the black lab/basset cross. It was so strange looking that I had to ask what kind of a dog it was. Cute, but strange.

And a basset / beagle cross? Good grief, that sounds like a dog with a lot of energy and a lot of mass : unstoppable! And stubborn.... Cute, though.
