Who knew what I was in for when Zapp said, "Come and play!"
and we planned a meet for June's first Sunday
A day to get together would officially
be called The Return of The P.O.P.

I jumped off the tram as the day started,
but the best all began when the Happy Haunts parted
and revealed a handsome boy who had walked up from behind
he said "hello" - this cute skippy was just my kind
All people and strollers seemed to disappear
as this guy's voice was all I could hear
Each of us glowing under a beam of light
like that dance of Maria and Tony (you know, before the big fight)

We headed to the hub, didn't want to be late
then learning about Gay Day caused me to speculate
After friends gathered we wondered across the way
and spent an unusual amount of time in good ol' DCA
(a thrilling new ride was luring us that day)

New friends and old chattered with glee
then Not Afraid and I of course had to pee
We made our way back to all in the queue
there he was to help with not just one grab, but two
Shortly thereafter the group gathered 'round
and this little princess was honorably crowned
as Inner Spaceman announced for all guests to see
then and there my coronation in the Tower lobby

I wanted to learn more about this boy
We would laugh and tease, be playful and coy
A favorite of mine, the New York lad's not a fan of Soarin'
Yes, we did ride, I dangled my bare feet, he said it was borin'
I thought my chance on the patio formerly called Mondovi
but darn it that shirt guy sat next to me
(NM swears I wanted this doctor from the Navy)

Crossing the esplanade I heard him say "shaft"
which made me giggle, and made us all laugh
To the Magic Kingdom our merriment continued this day
with many more occasions to amuse and play
This guy can't stand the Tiki Room, but he sure loves that Whip
plus it gave us an opportunity to flirt and quip

Too soon the night was coming to an end
but it seemed I was sure to have a new friend
Off to the castle for a look at Not Afraid's birds
We were left alone to exchange some private words
The Emperor's New Groove he had yet to see
the idea of a screening made a date opportunity
(of course I only gave a maybe)
IM was discussed on the tram that night
Facilitated of course by Pallor and Delight

We all banned together as a fabulous new journey'd begun,
and my oh my, how swanky it has all become.
Thank you to all who had a hand
in hooking up Babette and Nirvanaman

To my love as time has turned into year three,
all is still a flutter as you treat me royally.
