Out of curiosity to anybody who knows dog breeding, is coloration shape at all breedable or just pretty much random?

But if so I think I just realized the logical conclusion of the lolcat phenomenon. |

It's rare that chihuahas are bred for coat - in fact, it's not unusual to have long hair and smooth coat chihuahuas in the same litter.

Snowcloning is indeed a very useful word. I'm glad to see the wiki page correctly identifies the Language Log source. That's a regular blog on my reading list so it was cool to be there at the creation of a word and actually see it spread into common use (at least within certain circles).

If you're interested in things linguisticky I recommend that blog (though it does veer into way over my head jargon sometimes. Man, somewhere recently I read a very interesting article from a dictionary editor on how words are selected for inclusion. But now I can't find it. |
