"I like to dream" he said. "I like to dream a lot."

And the sound of "Tee" echoed in the thin room with one window on the right. He stood there looking down to the very far end of that room and it’s dull grey walls, and floorboards and soot colored wood floor. And to stare at the table with one chair and a dull dying flower in a vase with no shine and a plate with a pea on it. It was all he saw.

Long afer the "Teeee" had faded into the walls and traveled to the very far end of the room and back the scene melted and it was bright and warm.

The sun shone on his face and the cool air breathed thru his hair and he smelled the ocean. There was warmth and there was the gentle sounds of the birds and the sounds of the water moving nearby. He looked and saw blue and pink in the skies and the white foam on the tan shores. He felt his heart fill, his eyes water and he touched and was touched.

He says "I like to dream." and it was so without repeat and the word were there.


With his deepest breath, his eyes tearing and closed and when his sight returned there was the sound of the "tee" hanging in the air. The walls were grey and the light hurt his eyes. His feet were cold and his head hurt and his back ached. His heart was empty as his stomach was and all the good feelings in his body were gone.

Next to him, on a table was a pencil and a pad of paper. Sitting with his feet on the chilled floor, he took the pencil and the paper and wrote. Then he stood, walked to another room where a large wardrobe was and he opened the door revealing a drawer which he slid open. He folded the paper into a small square and placed it in the drawer and after he closed the drawer the world went black.

"I like to dream a lot." he wrote.
