Some Swanky Trivia
Okay I am going to put on my geek hat for a moment. I know we have at least a few big fans of the silver screen. So I think you may be able to figure this one out.
Who am I? I am much more famous for what I did on the silver screen but I started my career recording Rhythm & Blues for George Goldner's Rama Record label in 1956. Who am I? If you can figure this one out you're quite the WIZ!! ![]() |

Based on the way the question is asked I'm going to guess Richard Pryor.

Good guess. Diana Ross played Dorothy in The Wiz so you are on the right track. I am thinking of the woman who played a more evil role.

DING!! DING!! DING!!!
Mabel King is definitely the lady I was thinking of! She appeared in The Wiz as Evillene. She was also in the Jerk, Scrooge'd, and on the show What's Happening. But before all this she recorded some awesome (yet very obscure) Rhythm & Blues in the 1950's. She was notable enough to appear on the Rock N' Roll circuit with Alan Freed. My favorite by her is "Alabama Rock N' Roll" I am quite the geek, huh? |

Must be Mabel King but I was thrown off by the "much more famous for the silver screen." She hardly had a movie career beyond The Wiz and being Steve Martin's mom in The Jerk.
