The sad part is that all of the packages will probably be sold out in the first 5 hours.

That's a maximum of 990 people participating in the 50th "events".

Max revenue generation is

Walt's Dream - $97,750
Roy's Plan - $87,500
Lillian's Inspiration - $105,000
Imagineer's Quest - $371,250

Or $661,500 Gross revenue (Approx. 13,500 day guests).

Boggles the mind.

Edit to add: If they sold 10,000 50th Anniversary extended hours event tickets at $100 each, they'd bring in $1,000,000 on admission alone.
payroll would probably kill a large amount of the profits though....considering probably 2 nights of overtime(if the CM's have a half decent contract). they would probably end up having to pay each CM that works during the extended hours about $20 each per hour. with their "events" as they are right now, they don't really have to increase payroll at all, and there really arn't a lot of "special" preparations that need to be made, so profit margin will be larger.

Perhaps, but I imagine the economics would be no different than running 2 grad nights. I presume since Disney continues to do these, they are still profitable for them.

Plus, they could add tons of merch only available after hours. Special pins, shirts etc. I'm pretty sure Disney makes a profit on those things, too.

but of course, I am not saying they wouldn't be profitable.....its just the weenies in corporate must not think it is profitable enough for them.....too bad they don't seem to understand the loss in opportunity cost that could come from not doing something special like a 50 hour party, the goodwill gained would be invaluable......stupid number crunching weenies.

DwoernAdale is in the groove
These packages don't even include accomodations on the night of the 17th...and furthermore if you look at the fine print stuff they tell you that the resort hotels are all booked that night! What an amazing lack of foresight to not have blocked out some rooms on the 17th! "Come to our party and then go stay elsewhere!"

I used to be marketing manager for a casino and would have been crucified by corporate if I had planned an event like this and hadn't set aside rooms for THE NIGHT OF THE EVENT! *shakes head* It boggles the mind.

I mean its great for those who got rooms for that night without having to give up a first born for the packages..but for those ponying up, not so much.

Hey!

According to this site, they've added a bit cheaper option, called "Goofy's Shaft" - sounds like a bargain!

I'm holding out for the Eisner: (One Man's) Dream package, myself. Stocked up on Mylanta and ready to party!
