Rebuilding Vista into XP

My cousin bought a new Dell computer and hates Vista. We want to put XP on it using one of the 'green' Dell XP restore disks. Obviously I know how to do this. I am wondering if anyone has tried to do it or can think of any conflict that the machine may see between the two OS'.

Make sure you have a vaid XP licence key.

Check that there are XP Drivers avaliable for all the various bits (sound, video, etc...)

Go for it.

The restore disk I have doesn't come with a product code. It is a generic restore disk that ships with (or you can pay $10 for) new XP machines.

Then it probably won't work. You won't have a valid product code and the disc probably has drivers specifically for the hardware in the model it shipped with. I've never tried using one like that, but I'm guessing it's not going to work.
