![]() Monday morning. 4:30 a.m. I'd just got out of bed to get ready for work but had to put clothes in the dryer and take the clothes out there are already in there. I do that and as I'm about to come back up stairs, I see a big yellow/orange cat run up the stairs.
We do not have a cat. I say "what the hell", put the basket down and run up the stairs. The entire upstairs is dark and I see no sign of him. I turn on the lights and search. I awake the entire family to search. Everywhere. No sign of the cat. I have everyone close the doors as we leave the house about an hour later and think that we'll find some stray cat in one of the bedrooms meowing to get out when we get home. There is no sign of the cat. My family wonders if I'm losing my mind. Now - I KNOW I saw it. I heard it's little thump thump as it ran up the stairs. I know the back door was left open about an hour or two on Sunday and think maybe it came in then. Fast forward to today - Tuesday. No sign of any cat anywhere. I'm freaking going insane! I've "seen" things before. Woke up a few times in the middle of the night and sort of half awake and half asleep think I've seen odd things like a swarm of bees on the ceiling.. then blinked and they were gone... and I think - oh look - I did that thing again. I even remember as a kid thinking I saw a lion walk by the doorway of a room... but knowing that couldn't possibly be the case. So tell me - make me feel better or show me just how insane I am - any of you ever "see" things like that? |

A while ago, I saw a black blur moving in the kitchen. It moved so fast that I had no clue what it was. It was definitely too big to be a bug. I saw it twice and my husband had trouble believing that I wasn't just seeing things.
Then we noticed the nibbles, and realized we had a mouse to catch. Turned out to be a few mice, actually. I wasn't crazy. ![]() The cat probably has a secret path that you don't know about. Is there an odd window or vent that you may not have checked? I'd say, if you saw the colors of it, it exists, and you're not nuts. ![]()

I do things like this regularly! The other night I had gone to bed...I was in the sleepy, almost asleep stage...just kinda closing my eyes...still trying to watch Jay Leno. I SWEAR that the wall was crawling with bugs! Swear it on all that is holy! Gasped so much both children and a husband came running in to see what was wrong.
"Get something to kill them!" I screamed... "Uhhh...kill what hun?" said husband "The bugs! They are everywhere!" I'm sure it's a conspiracy to have me committed and steal all my shiny pebbles!

You're not nuts, the cat probably escaped right when you went after him. May have even went right by you.
At least that's what the voices said for me to say. Just kidding!

This is a timely subject- just today, I took my MIL to the doc's because for some time now she has been doing the same thing. Usually it's when she first wakes up- she sees spiders or geometric shapes and they are real enough that she takes a swipe at them, or jumps out of bed. I did some research on her meds, and it turns out that two of them, Prozac and impromamine (sp?) have been known to cause hallucinations. Her doc has recommended she quit the Prozac, as she needs the other med more. (For IBS).
Of course, your house could also be haunted. ![]() |

If she was taking Prozac for depression, there are many good alternatives, including chocolate. Oh, and back on topic: I think Betty is a whack-job. ![]()

Well- I'm not on any medication. Maybe that's the problem.
![]() Hmm... maybe I do need to see a doctor. Or - just keep ignoring it. ![]() |

Look at it this way - at least the phantom cat didn't scratch up your furniture or crap in your bed.
