According to some photos and video posted by a friend who was there Stompy Jones played in the Golden Horseshoe instead of Carnation Plaza last night. That would certainly be an improvement over the deluge we danced through last year. It looked like a lot of fun and the band looked right at home on that stage.

I love it when they move the bands to the Horseshoe! So much fun to watch the dancers from upstairs. I wish they'd build a dance hall on Paradise Pier with a wraparound balcony.

I've never seen a band other than the Billy Hills at the Horseshoe, but what a great venue! And yes, a dance hall on the Pier with a balcony would be fantastic!

The year that Plaza Gardens was refurbished and they took out the food service is when I remember them moving the dancing to Horseshoe.

I still hold that they should put in a shiny soda counter all along the back side of that area - give them a financial incentive to keep the dancing around.
