As for the sandwich art, cool. But I hope he knows when to stop (and I must admit I find something a little narcissistic about putting each one out to the world to show how awesome he is instead of it just being a cool thing between him and his kids).

I used to put smilies and such on Maddie's lunch stuff. But mostly it was just to embarrass her when she pulled it out of the bag.

I'm no artist, but over the years I've written many a note on lunch box napkins. I even signed them "Love, The Napkin." My kids appreciated them, well, not at all. I should have saved them, though.

Or maybe I should just die. Then, they'll appreciate the napkin notes, by heaven.

My dad used to leave me notes. Not in my lunch but other places. I have one framed in my room that reads "Dear Ms. Hog, Clean your room or Santa won't come to your house. Signed, A Friend" with a drawing of a pig.
