I thought I had lost my Tungsten E for good!!

OK, I know this might just be a silly thread, but there are some honest questions in here!

I have a Tungsten E. One that hasn't been used as often as it should have been. Due to it's bulkiness and my love for small purses, I never carried it as much as I should have. However, with my new purse, there is room. So...

I tried to charge it last night, after about 4 months of complete neglect. (OH, I am so horrible...) Nothing. Nada. Not charging. I could just fugghetaboutit! So...

I thought well maybe there's something wrong with the charger. I'll try to charge it through the mini-USB. Again... Nothing. Checked it all night. Nada. It wasn't hep to my desires to be at least a little more egg-headish.

Immediately, I start looking online for a battery for my darling, neglected Tungsten E. As I read further, and come across some reviews for the Tungsten E, I noticed something mentioned repeatedly: "Non-user replaceable battery"

What does that mean? I can't replace it? Can anyone replace it?! I panicked. The $200 spent a year ago might just be worth jack and .... So I started to look for companies that might replace it.. Or just to see if there was a battery available. No battery that I found. Maybe I was just looking in the wrong places.

I decided that my effort was fruitless, and wasn't becoming anything more than fruitless, and that I would worry about it another day. Plus, I had company over. Why was I spending my time looking into batteries when I really needed to be conversing with them?

So this morning, as I crawled out of bed and toward my dear iMac, I look at my PDA, which I left hooked to the mini-USB. At some point in the next 10 seconds, either the PDA magically turned on, or I magically hit the power button... and voila! It's ON! But only charged 1/3 up? Not sure I understood that, but it worked! Oh happy day!

So here's what I'm wondering in the future event of PDA catastrophe:

1.) Are they fo' real when they say non-user replaceable?

2.) Why is my battery charging so friggin' sloooowww!!11!!1!!1!!!!

3.) Where do the egg heads suggest I look for software parts online at a sweet price?

Because those are the really important things in life.

Could be something with the battery...leave these things dead for awhile and I think the battery goes bad. That happened with my old laptop.

Keep it on the charger for a couple days, see if it fills up..The battery memory can get funkiy if you charge it too often, or let it sit dead for too loang. The core may just need to rebuild. Keep us informed.

It seems to be operating quite well, and the battery usage seems to be back to normal.

Yeah, schmeah --- it's hardware. I honestly thought I talked with you, sweetie... Turns out... I didn't. Sorry. No more going over heads. I promise.
