Breakfast @ DLR
Between RainForest Cafe, Catal, and Story Tellers Cafe which has the best breakfast; should we avoid any?
Between Whitewater Snacks, Jazz Kitchen Express, and La Brea Bakery?

We ate breakfast at La Brea last visit and it was pretty good. Food was decent, service great and it was nice to sit outside and people watch. Catal was very good as well- a tad bit spendy, but not too bad.

I would go with Storytellers and Whitewater. I avoid Rainforest Cafe - too loud and not so great service.

I would skip them all and go for Carnation Cafe.

To some degree it depends on your personal tastes. And no one can tell you what you will like. I mean, I still love breakfast at the Riverbelle. It brings back childhood memories! Good old Aunt Jemima! And one person's experience with service can be very different to the next person.
Just have fun!

Denny's right across the street.
When it comes to breakfast it really isn't possible to do something so special as to justify resort prices for the food. But, Rainforest Cafe: Can't comment as I refuse to do anything more than walk past the place with a disdainful tilt of my head. Catal: Good food but way too expensive for what are essentially breakfast standards. Storytellers: Good and actually not too horribly expensive but there are furry things walking about which is bad enough on its own but draws children like free heroin and so I'll probably never do it again. Your preferences likely differ. Whitewater Snacks: If I want a quick breakfast on property this would probably be the top of the list. Their grill selections are huge and actually pretty good. Jazz Kitchen Express: Eh. La Brea Bakery: I've never actually eaten there because I faint every time I look inside and see what they charge for pretty standard stuff. "$17 for a glass of tepid water? <thud>" Inside the parks the only place I'd recommend is Carnation Cafe. I've eaten at Riverbelle Terrace many times for social reasons but the food itself is pretty substandard. |

^ Alex is spot on. Riverbelle has atmosphere (outside dining area only), but the food is expensively bleh.
Carnation has the only good breakfast in the Park, but it's tiny and waits for tables are loooooong. If you're going to venture across the street for something approaching real-world prices and value, Mimi's is a million times better than Denny's (and for lord's sake, don't be tempted by the worst IHOP on the planet). I can't vouch for any DTD breakfasts, 'cept to say that Whitewater in the Grand Cal has some decent stuff for a quickie bite. |

Yeah, Mimi's is a fair option. Definitely avoid IHOP (not once, but twice, have we gone there and left before getting our food because things were going so poorly). Also, resist any temptation to go to Millie's or Captain Kidd's (formerly Grandma's).

A pre-Disneyland breakfast for me usually comprises of a glass of milk, a Nut Naturals Powerbar and a chocolate muffin from the Main Street bakery. That's about it.
I have had the Mickey head pancakes at River Belle as tradition in the past but not lately. ![]() |
