I've been with Sprint for almost seven years and aside from the occasional brain-dead call center drone--and you're gonna get those anywhere--I've been very happy with both their customer service and wireless service.
On the other hand, I had a brief bit of nastiness with Verizon after they bought AirTouch but before I switched to Sprint, and would not recommend them (Verizon) to anyone. I hear good things about T-Mobile but haven't any experience with them.
