Gist of it goes like this.

Terri broke up with Rick, but got back together with him in the middle of season three. Rick started abusing Terri again, and he pushed her so hard she smacked her head on a rock and fell into a coma for a few weeks. She recovered, but it was eventually revealled that she left Degrassi to go to another school.

So, I guess you could say that Terri was the "L.D." of the series...had a big role the first couple of seasons, then disappeared.
