GD's family does have it on Saturday (sometimes Sunday if there's some reason to move it) in order to accomodate a large (non-religious) family. They also cut out most of the reading.

That's what we did too. Lately it's always been on a Sunday to accommodate my cousins' wife's work schedule. We also cut most of the reading (and add commentary).
