Not just Chocolate - this is Art!

For our 15th Anniversary, Chris brought home some incredibly decadant chocolate truffles from Chicago. The Shop is called Vosgesand everything about this chocolate is swank.

First of all, I received a deep plum colored box, wrapped in a wide plum satin ribbon which came in sealed clear bag. On the box, it has the name of the chocolatier with the tag line Haute Chocolate which made me smile. Then, the box simply states - Exotic Truffles. Indeed!

They describe their chocolate this way:

Quote:
Vosges truffles have exotic influences of an 'East meets West' theme. The infusions of rare spices and flowers combined with premium chocolate give a delicate balance of flavor, leaving you with a layered and lingering sensation of spice and chocolate. A true 'haut-chocolat' experience.
Well, I adore fine chocolate and I am fairly particular (and Chris, the real € is even more so). These chocolates are MAGNIFICIENT! The flavor combinations are exotic and absolutely wonderful. Some of the varieties may sound a bit odd, but, I haven't tasted anything but perfection yet (and I have a sad 4 left out of 16).

What I got:

Finnochio (Fennel)
Sale del Mare (Sea Salt)
Dulce de Leche
Balsamico
Red Fire (hot pepper)
Naga (Curry)
Viola (candied violet)
Black Pearl (Pirate flavored - j/k - wasabi, ginger and sesame)
Poivre (pepper)
Olio d'Oliva (Olive Oil)
Xocakyl (Mexican spiced chocolate)
Budapest (paprika)
Tlan Nacu (vanilla bean)
Wink of the Rabbit (caramel pecan)
Giarduia (Italian praline)
Woolloomooloo (Macadamia praline and coconut)

So, the worst and best news I got today was the Chris wouldn't be going to Chicago in July. Man, I'm going to be in HEAVY withdrawls. Probably not a bad thing since I am on a not-so-strict diet.

They also have a shop in Vegas, so those of you who travel there, stop by and get some art for your mouth.
