During my time there, I came to learn a thing or two about wines, sugar content, and what it can do. I tend to not care as much for Shiraz (sometimes spelled Syrah). It seems a bit sweet to me, but I tend to like it over most whites. I'll take a nice Chardonnay, but sometimes I just get headaches. The tannic acid in most reds (but more so in Cabernets) are also good for the gums, soothing and lowering inflammation. Same thing with iced tea (And no, we're not talking the Long Island variety ![]() On a different tangent, for a while I worked for a wine distributor that only distributed imports from the Southern Hemisphere. There are really some spectacular wines they have been growing down there. Sure, some snobs might turn their nose at the lack of a cork, but there's a lot to be said for the freshness (and no cork floaters!). South African wines, I have loved... |
