The New Yorker cartoon caption contest is a fun little diversion that I would recommend to you all. I happen to be a finalist this week. (About f****** time!) I would appreciate your vote. I'm the fellow from Petaluma. (No need to mention my name in any responses.)

The first entry is also fairly strong; however, I submit that mine is the truly surreal response. If anyone is on the fence about whom they should vote for, I would be happy to explain in laborious critical detail why most of my entries in prior weeks should have won.

I also Googled the author of the first caption. He has a blog about his two-year-old. What a putz.

I voted for you, too. But seriously because yours was the best choice (and I found it hard to believe that one of the three even made it to the finals).

Well, I wouldn't have voted for you if I didn't know you, primarily because I wouldn't have known about this contest. (Yours is the best entry, btw).
