It's common to do a periodic walkthrough to make sure everything is in good shape.

What the 'F is going on here?

Rose bowl, Cotton Bowl, Orange bowl. Them's the big three. That's it. Sure you have all these other piddly little bowl games, but Rose, Sugar, Cotton that's the big time and the championship is supposed to be rotated through them. So why the hell is it that the ALL THREE have been played already and it ain't over yet? What evil forces are afoot? Arizona? Ya gotta be kidding me.

Not for me. My landlord would never step foot in my house if I didn't ask him to fix something once in a while. But that is rare because I fix most things myself, unless I don't have the tools or experience needed. So he knows I take care of things well, and gives me a discount on the rent to boot.

But that's just me.

Our landlord is very cool. Normally he doesn't step foot in this joint. We had a recent "incident" with the neighbors upstairs. Seems that not only was their water heater leaking, but there was also a slow leak around the tub. Parts of our place were flooded over the holidays, and there is now a big hole in the ceiling of the front bathroom. He is driving the repairs on all of this and trying to minimize the inconvenience to us.

And, in the middle of all of this, the dishwasher dies too. He had a repairman come out to inspect it and decided to just replace it. I would offer to do it, but A) I really don't have the time, and B) after reading about GD's trials and tribulations, I don't think I want to venture down that road.

It's unlikely to be a problem, our situation was rather out of the ordinary. As long as you don't have 2 inches of sedimentary flooring to deal with, installing a dishwasher is a fairly simple operation.
