That's been the case for every camera I've bought. Outside in the shade is also fine. Pentax still performs better then the others IMO. Although I do also like the kodak dual lense also. I can take really wide shots without standing 100 feet back.

See, we had an old Kodak. Size and weight of a brick, whopping 1 megapixel...took fantastic low-light shots. I was disappointed by the Pentax in that area. In all others, it's wonderful.
