That's not a hijack at all-- it's related!

We're doing a reception out here for the people (read: LoT, among others) who cannot come but with whom we dearly want to celebrate. It's totally OK to send an announcement of the wedding with an invitation to a reception; I've been to one before and it was very nice. And plus, much less expensive.

Congratulations on your daughter's marriage. But I'm so sorry you didn't get to experience it with her! I am sure she'll enjoy celebrating with you at a reception.
