Are the Carlsbad flower fields still in bloom?

Wanna do something historical and California-y, you could take them up to Mission San Juan Capistrano. Technically South OC, I know, but great for out-of-towners and Californians alike. Plus, there are some cute restaurants and antique shops right around the Mission. I've actually been thinking about suggesting SJC for a swanking, but haven't gotten around to it.
