Awesome thanks -- I will see if Verizon will give me ANY discount for getting a new phone in under 2 years (I think they give like $50 off or something, and perhaps theres a rebate if I get a new contract).

Uh - I have the same phone and service, you can do custom ring tones by adding the appropriate mp3 files.

Oh, and anyone else realize that is probably AT&T's biggest PR screw up EVER? The biggest gadget of all time and embedded in every write-up is "AT&T makes the iPhone suck."

I am not so sure it doesn't suck anyway. What have they done to address the skin-oil problem? I have not seen that mentioned in any of the write-ups (though, admittedly, I've only read a few).

A completely screen-based interface will fail if they haven't solved the problem of human skin oils.



Also ... why do ALL cell phones put the screen where your ear goes instead of where your mouth goes? Sure, it might seem "upside down" - but you wouldn't have to clean your screen after every call.




As for the iPhone itself - - - yawn!
But the interface has promise for other devices.
