I've tried fois gras a few times, but it's just never been my thing. I don't hate it, I just don't love it.
Caviar, on the other hand....yum! Of course, that could be on the way out, too.

Caviar Dreams for Pru
Today, July 18th, is National Caviar Day. FYI -- Caviar has about 40 calories and 2.5 grams of fat per tablespoon, and some medical experts say it can help treat depression. (Not that you're depressed Pru)

Fun Thread!
Hmm..things that I miss? iSm mentioned Sunkist. I miss Sunkist! My first job was working at Disneyland, and I worked at Coke Corner & The Cone Shoppe. Sunkist was right next door, with their bitchin' orange and white striped costumes. *Those Sunkist lemon & orange citrus swirly sorbet dealies. *Cherry Turnovers that we used to sell at Coke Corner *Peanut Butter Boppers. They were these little logs of peanut butter rolled in rice krispies that were made for brown bag lunches in grade school. *Ripple wine (I'm totally kidding )Bugles totally remind me of waterskiing at the lake when I was a teenager.Oh golly, do they still make Zima? Remember how hip Zima was back in the day? Ooh! Or remember clear Pepsi? ( or as Homer would say, "mmmm ..invisible cola"). |

I can't think of too many packaged products or specific menu items I miss. Mostly restaurants that have closed down that I used to go to regularly.

Heehee..Zima just reminds me so much of the early 90's. Yuppies with patterned shoulder-padded blazers lookin' all bougie. That's so totally Zima to me.
I thought the original clear Pepsi was yummy! Didn't they then change the formula or taste shortly before it disappeared?? Also, I keep thinking of that SNL commercial for Pepsi clear gravy. Does anybody remember that?? YUCK!! I had a flashback to Lawry's beef jerkey. It came in a can, each piece of jerkey wrapped in clear plastic. It was just...so dog treat. And as kids, we loved it. |

I used to be able to regularly eat the best chicken lasagna I've ever had. Unfortunately it became unavailable to me in 1995 when I got divorced. Really, the only bad thing about the divorce.
Do any Portland area people know if Burgerville is still doing Tillamook cheese turkey burgers? If not then the is a slightly darker place for me. I know this one is lame but Safeway's deli counter used to sell chicken strips that I really liked but they changed them at some point and now they're as gross as all the other food in the hot case. |
