A possible substitute for the Beat Hotel?

Just throwing this out there, while Ojai or Palm Springs would definitely be my first choice of setting, there's also still the mountain (Arrowhead/Big Bear) option. Just a thought, I don't know if availability is better or worse there, but it might be worth looking in to if there's a better chance of finding a place we could fill.

If you are up for the mountains, you could give this place a try

Whispering Pines Cabins

I've never stayed there, but I know it is quiet, it doesn't have the hub bub of Big Bear. The disadvantage is there is only one restaurant in town, so you'd probably have to bring your own food.
