There was a big accident near my building (Garden Grove Blvd & Brookhurst) a few minutes ago. There is a fire truck there now. Mmmmmm.... Firemen....

They were too far away to get a good picture, plus they didn't stay long.
It looked like everyone (including a child) walked away from it. There were no ambulances. One car looks totaled, and it's still sitting in the middle of the intersection.

Fatal accidents all around me.
Yesterday, the 405 was blocked for over 15 hours by the big rig with a giant crane that crashed into the meridian at 5am and killed the driver in a fiery inferno that was the explosion that woke me u, only to to be followed by hours of sleepless helicopter racket, and it was all day hell on any surface streets within 20 miles of the 405. Today, on the way into work, a fatal car crash just south of my office, with a sheet being pulled over a body (and I don't think it was a ghost costume). In neither instance did I have the countervailing pleasure of firemen, paramedics or other stereotypically gorgeous hero men. |
