Alex finally cracked open Galaxy last night. Some of those levels are really cute, and I see what you mean about thinking spherically.

I've just started Galaxy and am finding it fun enough (though I continue to have ergonomic issues with the controller, that hamster ball level particularly) but it is, so far very easy. I think I've only died multiple times on a level once.

Hopefully it will get harder or I'll probably grow bored enough that "cute" is no longer sufficient. Conceptually brilliant, though.

With the exception of maybe 3 or 4 levels, It doesn't get all that much harder until the very end in my opinion. I am finding the purple comet levels more of a challenge, but you can't even get to those until you beat the final boss stage.

The final boss stage was not ridiculously difficult to me either. See, I like the Mario Galaxy difficulty. It isn't no challenge, and it doesn't make me want to throw things at it either. Some of the levels I thought were just plain evil, I was able to do relatively easily after multiple times of practice and anticipation -- just like most video games.

Luigi's Purple Coins can go fvck itself. It's the last star I need. By far the hardest thing in the game for me.

There's one purple coin level that has me stumped -- it's a timed level, where there are disappearing green and rotating yellow squares. I jump around a little, get a few coins, and I either get stuck in a rotating yellow square or just into a corner. It really blows

Yup, that's the one. It's the first level in the whole game that sent me to find a walkthrough for help. Some help they've been. "Find a strategy and use it".

I did it. I freaking did it!!!!

Took me about 40 tries to beat that level, but I bloody did it. 120 stars. And now I've beat final Bowser twice, which we've gathered means I get to play as Luigi (I'm still sitting through the ending sequence to find out).

I swear, that Luigi's Purple Coins level is like playing an entirely different game. 1000 times harder (okay, 8 times harder if you go by the number of lives it took to beat it) than any other part of the game.

I can't even give a good hint for it. You just kinda gotta go for it, run like mad, jump and spin a lot. I guess the best bit of advice is that there are WELL over 100 coins there, so don't stress about getting every last one. My strategy ended up being starting off by heading to the right where there's a couple long rows of coins to get with a long jump. If you get most of those right off the bat, you're in good shape.
