FYI, as mentioned in the Sooo thread, the board does not like it if you try to post using the word P-y-t-h-o-n. I'm sure other people have been having problems posting in this thread due to this glitch. (GD is on it.)

I'm sure NA is behind it and we must all hang her for a witch.

I swear, when I first began using the internet in the fall of 1996, figuring out what a search engine was in GD's dorm room, looking at text only via 28.8k modem....

one of the first things I ever read was a webpage on the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow.

The internet has always been populated by Monty P. geeks.

The first "web page" I remember visiting (using mosaic) was a site in Germany with a strudel recipe.

I wish I still had that, strudel sounds good right now.

If we are going to discuss our early geekiness, I have to mention that the first modem I used was actually a cradle that you set the phone handset into. It was for direct connection to another computer. I think the thing was about 300 baud (no kiddies: there is no "K" after that number).

When I got my first computer, I had to upgrade the ram from 4MB to a whopping 8MB! And that cost over $100 to do!! Oh, the good old days.......NOT!
