Watched it last night.
That episode was terrible!! The phrase that kept coming to mind was "ham handed". I mean, I was cool with most of thus stuff that happened and/or was revealed, from a story perspective, but it was done so freaking poorly, with the WORST sound track. Ugh, that episode was painful to watch. And THAT'S their explanation for the "Oceanic 6" including Aaron? Really? Booooooooooo. Lazy, lazy writing. This was, what, the 5th post-strike episode? I guess they were coming up on the deadline with this one and just slapped it together. Not a shred of subtlety to be found. Hopefully they were just positioning themselves for a good finale and I don't have to sit through 2 hours of that drek next week.

I felt the same way GD did...painful to watch, but good story movement. This episode had the most forced dialog and overdramatic soundtrack of the entire series. Even the camera angles, edits, and slow-mo montages were shoddy - all areas they usually excel in. I wonder what happened...

I did a re-watch last night and would have to agree with you here.....very shoddy work for a show that is known for its quality. They need to dump Castanza and get Lloyd Braun(the real L.B.) back, and fast.

So....I am wondering if Locke was forced to move the island again and that's why he was back on the main land. I can't imagine him leaving any other way.
Also, it's going to be quite interesting seeing the process of getting everyone to agree to go back, particularly Sun. She certainly seems as if she's in Widmore's corner due to the death of her hubby. That was an incredibly sad episode. I was glad to see Desmond and Penny hook up, as that brought a much needed happy moment to the episode. That was a great episode, but depressing as hell. |

I hope Sun doesn't give up Desmond. After all Sayid already lost his true love, I'd hate to see the same thing happen to them. I'm hoping she's trying to take down Whitmore but she could very well be after Ben too. |

I don't know that Sun was so much "in Widmore's corner" as simply using him as a means to an end. And now that I think of it, Sun may be the easiest one to convince to go back. I bet she was tapping ol' Charles because he found the island once, he can find it again, and she wants to go back and find Jin (she doesn't seem like she was particularly willing to accept that he's dead).
This episode was better than last, though it still had its moments of ham-handedness. I'm hoping these last two episodes were the final fallout of the writers' strike which probably put them on a pretty tight schedule to get them done and that next season they can get back to good story telling and not lazy exposition. Worst offender was the revisit of the Kate and Jack scene. That served absolutely no purpose other than to put the name "Jeremy Lanthem" in our minds. We learned nothing else through that entire exchange. Bleh, whatever, I'll try to ignore all that. Still like the overall direction of the story. It's going to be a long summer.
