Sayid has a list eh? Didn't Michael have a list too?
And why did Sayid's new girl have a bracelet that looked like Naomis?

Most interesting question to my mind that was raised in this episode...31 minute time warp, eh?

What's on the ship? I can't wait for next week. Also, Kate and Sawyer play house (hopefully not on Ben's bed... ugh).

Did I see that right? Is the watch on the rocket payload 31 minutes ahead? If so, the girl on the ship (can't remember her name) saw the rocket touch down on her display. Therefore, she is 31 minutes in the future. So how do they communicate in real time? Also, Daniel's watch should be set to ship time, not island time. So you'd think his watch would have the same time as the rocket payload. This is frying my brain. Or...the ship time and island time are the same and somehow the rocket entered a rip in time and traveled backward 31 minutes. Which doesn't really make any sense at all. This would have been much easier to think about if the rocket payload time was 31 minutes behind, not ahead. Now I need to watch it again. |

I double-checked and the timer on the rocket was 31 minutes ahead of Daniel's watch.
There are a couple theories that I have read about that can explain this. 1. Time on the island is slower than time in the outside. This explains why Richard Alpert hasn't aged. Why "ghost Walt" is taller (he's off the island). Maybe even why Aaron is growing so fast (children age at the standard rate while adults don't). But it doesn't explain how they are able to communicate with the outside in real time. The voices from the ship would be frequency shifted up. Also, GPS uses time to triangulate positions. Highly accurate time pieces are required for better precision. If time on the island were slower then the GPS phone and transponders would not accurately show their locations. And if they were off by as much as 31 minutes it would probably not even locate them on earth. 2. There's a curve in time surrounding the island that varies by trajectory. This can explain things much better. If some trajectories off the island don't have a time dilation then communications are still possible given that radio waves travel in all directions. But then there would still be echoes making communications difficult. And, as was pointed out above, why Daniel made sure to tell the pilot to follow the exact course they came in on. |

Ben f'n with Sayiid in the future - grr.
Seeing the core group tricking each other and really being at odds is serious business. Future Sayiid sex god/hitman....pretty damn hot.
