BTD~ those are some fantastic financial moves! Big ones, so, they definitely redeem you.
The best thing I've done? Well, one, not stock up at the REI sale but second, I had financed my bed. One of those interest free loans up until a certain date? I didn't pay their minimum {which of course would have never paid it off in time} and paid it off a couple of months early. That felt good. And, my son, he had wanted a nice television. Well, we financed a t.v. for him and told him even though they asked for $10 minimum, he was paying at least $100 a month. That got him just under the wire for having to pay the interest. He did it so we have allowed him to finance a laptop. He knows how important it is to not have to pay that interest so he is making big payments towards this, too. This, though, is another way that they get people. The interest on the bed if I hadn't paid it? I think it was about $300. Maybe only $200 but still. And, my son would have had a balance of over $400. on his t.v. if he hadn't paid it. And then they'd have added interest to that balance, as well. A lot of people don't see that minimum due on these type of loans and see if it will have the loan paid off...never does. Even this bed, it was higher than the t.v. but still not enough to pay it off. Oh, I digress.... Congrats on getting closer to paying off your car!!!
