You can chose who you get updates from, and also which of those updates you get to your mobile device, if you so chose. Also it is real easy to turn the mobile updates off/on with an "off" or "on" text message.

Twitter would actually be great for Disneyland updates. Create LoT account and update where the group will be, or anounce an impromptu Swanking. The updates can be locked so only those approved can see them. Direct messages can be sent to those who are being followed also.
