You are right. Cathartic is the word!! Can't go around punching people but I can beat up the bag to a pulp!!

And, yes, I don't like junk food, much. It really doesn't taste very good. But, once in a while it does. It is the quantity of the good food I do need to taper down, as well. My husband is a wonderful cook. Dah!!!

Oh, she turned out to be okay. Having serious headaches but the doc said they were just that. I told her to try things on her own to relieve them, like perhaps it could be eye strain, stress, and, taking some Excedrin as soon as she feels she is on her way to one of those horrible headaches.

Does anyone here wear extended contacts? She is and sometimes wears them longer than the two weeks. I say that is part of the culprit. Comments on that?

I used to wear mine for 3-4 weeks back in the early days of contacts for me (I was a teenager). I caused irreparable damage to my eyes - I have severe vein build-up around my corneas. Luckily, I was able to prevent further damage by removing them nightly, but was just barely under the allowable limit for my Lasik procedure.

However, the veins around my corneas can worsen with age and may cause me to go blind if my eyes can't get oxygen on their own.

Wearing contacts for extended periods on a regular basis is BAD. Period.

Intended laziness (aka "inexcusable stupidity") nearly cost me my eyesight.

I regularly wear my Acuvue II lenses for 2-3 months without removing them. I have been doing this for years. Every time my eye doc examines the lenses, he always asks how long this particular pair has been in and I will tell him two weeks (which is still twice as long as they should be worn) and he always comments that they are looking good for two weeks. I then tell him the truth and he tries to chastise me, but his words are empty with the condition my eyes are in.

Disneyphile & Kevy Baby~ Wow. Two very different stories of what can happen. So, really, it can be done, but, not if your eyes can't handle it. Which, may be her situation. Obviously, something is going wrong. So, she most likely isn't in your group, KB. She may not be as bad off as your situatin, DP, but, things do begin somewhere.

Now, the thing is to get her to listen to me......

Me, I don't really like contacts. Probably because I like things easy, just put on the glasses.
