I loved ceramics in high school. I never got a project that I was able to take home though. Either it was blown apart when someone elses blew up next to it or someone decided they wanted it and took it with them before I got to class.

Oh wait - I take that back. I made some hideous project out of my hand... probably an ashtray. lol.

It really was fun though. I should have paid more attention - or hot have ditched - when they were going over all the glazes and stuff. I think I missed out on pretty much all of the how to do that and which colors were which.

I guess I was just being a bit nostalgic, as doing ceramics is a throwback to summer camp and happy, relaxed times. Plus I was pretty decent at it.

I was terrible at ceramics. Once, I took a whole block of clay, hollowed out the middle and said, "Ta-da! A square vase!" I gave it to my mom. It didn't hold water too well.

I was OK at ceramics, but LOUSY at Knitting.

I once made a scarf. It started out as a sock, but I couldn't turn the heel.

yes, I loved ceramics and even used to have a potter's wheel and about 300lbs of clay in the backyard. Alas, gone with the wind and no place to throw pots now, unless I find a studio in town that lets you do it.
