Good Design

We've been writing a good deal about architecture, fonts, art (high and low), fashion, etc. Thought we could use a thread dedicated to good design (in general). Book design, packaging, ID, etc.

Came across this today on BoingBong, and found the concept delightful.

However you define "good design", if you come across something you like, please share it.

Also came upon a site dedicated to film titles and credits, which I often enjoy more than the film or tv show (True Blood being a good example).

Oh, those sandwich boxes are an extremely aesthetically pleasing!

We had sandwiches in boxes like that (without the artwork) at Edinburgh airport. It was GREAT package design.

There is a place called Structural Graphics that specializes in in three-dimensional and interactive printed pieces.

They have the coolest business card (which I hope to find again some day). It is a standard size fold-over card. When you open it up, there is a "pop up" fax machine and as you open the card, a "fax" is coming through the "machine."

Does good craft design fall into this category?

I fell in love with these pincushions - which I'd love to get for my sister and mother.

And while examining the artist's archives, I came upon this her terrific quilted tikis.
