I would dress Lucy in my build a bear outfits and she'd go prancing out to show daddy what she's wearing proudly at that. If she didn't like it she would give me a hard time or act out or something. But she doesn't. Now Ethel on the other hand could care less.

It's not the outfits so much as the looks on the pet's faces. People who love pets know that they can tell when their pets are happy or sad. Some pets love wearing clothes, and it's obvious by their expression (and stance and attitude), but others do not.

When I see a sad pet, it's a bummer, no matter how adorable the clothes.
