Isolated rooms with exterior walls on 3 sides will either be the hottest or coldest room in the house... depending on which season would be least convenient for which temperature. I say this from experience.

But I've always loved the idea of an interior courtyard in a personal residence! I'd put the garage doors on the exterior* (to eliminate the abysmal parking situation they've designed), and create a gorgeous tiled courtyard with fountain in the middle. But that's just me

(*-And yes, I understand that doing this compromises the defense capability of my stronghold, but since I haven't seen any Viking raiders or Norman conquerors anywhere near my abode, I'll take my chances!)
