Caltech basketball snaps 310-game conference losing streak

Caltech posted its first conference victory in more than 26 years Tuesday, defeating Occidental in its season finale, 46-45, bringing its run of 310 consecutive conference losses to an end. It was the longest conference losing streak in the nation.

Caltech ends the season at 5-20, its best season in decades. The streak began on Jan. 23, 1985, with a 48-47 loss to La Verne. In 2007, the Beavers broke a record 207-game NCAA losing streak with an 81-52 victory over Bard College of New York.
