That said I'm sorry but I've had to cancel trips and lost money on plane tickets and reservations because my child was sick. It sucks but it happens. It's not right to expose others to your kids illness just because you had a deposit.

Agreed. Having said that, considering the number of people that send their kids to school deathly ill, I'm not surprised they don't cancel trips either.
