I generally agree with The Oatmeal, but as someone who is in a movie theater 2-3 times a week this could not be further from the truth:

"...older people are always quiet and respectful during a movie..."

If given a choice and wanting to play the odds on silence during the movie I'll take a couple of teenagers obviously on their fourth date over an elderly couple or, god forbid, a trio of septuagenarian women.
