Eh. Not happy to see them loose, but it was just one of those games. Both pitchers were on, it came down to a few good breaks, all of which went the Giants' way. The Dodgers lost several base hits on unlucky position/good defense, whereas the Giants got a couple base hits on bloops.

Unless you were referring to the running game. Pathetic indeed. And perhaps that swinging K by Kemp with a man on third. Ugly.

Mostly just referring to the lack of run support our pitchers are getting as of late.

Hmm, not sure I agree with that observation. The game you commented on ended a streak of 11 games with 3 or more runs (including 9 with 5 or more). They've averaged more than 4.3 rpg in August (not stellar, but better than their 3.9 rpg season average).

They ran into a couple strong pitchers having great nights, lost Monday due a couple bad breaks, and lost last night due to starting a pitcher with a career ERA well over 4.0. Not the best timing for a drop off, but 2 cold games at the plate don't amount to a trend, yet.

After seeing the numbers, I don't agree with my observation either.

My excuse is that I don't think clearly when we are getting beat by the Giants. If you think I was irrational on Monday, you should see me now. The word "Mattingly" alone can set me off on a 20-minute tirade.
