However, if the player is only playing certain discs and not others, then it's almost definitely a software issue - either it's the firmware or the machine is blacklisted.

So now that I'm awake, what is the model number of the machine and what discs is it rejecting?

I'll have to get that info when I get home, I can't remember the model on this player.
